The Sir Jackie Stewart Classic

About

This Festival of Motoring will take place at Thirlestane Castle on 18th & 19th June 2022.

See live motorsport action, learn about sustainable motoring technology, and enjoy an award-winning classic car show – all part of this family-friendly event which will also showcase the career and achievements of three-time FIA Formula 1 Drivers' World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE. Re-live the remarkable career of this famous Scot with displays of his cars and memorabilia. Sir Jackie himself will be there alongside other high-profile names – still to be revealed – from the world of motorsports and beyond.

Get your heart racing as you check out the exhilarating live-action provided by the Scottish Motor Racing Club. Stand back and watch as classic and contemporary cars sprint up the castle's sweeping driveway.

Delight in attractions for the whole family that showcase the best of all things Scottish. Take time to savour local produce in the food and retail village: tuck into the finest food and drink or browse the fantastic range of arts and crafts.

The Sunday of the Festival marks the 50th anniversary of the Borders Vintage Automobile Club (BVAC) – and the 15th anniversary of the BVAC Classic Car Show at Thirlestane – one of the biggest and best car rallies in the country. Visitors can come and admire the display of over 1,200 Veteran, Vintage and Classic Cars, Motorcycles, American Cars, Commercial, Agricultural and Military Vehicles on show.

More information can be found on the BVAC website including details of how to enter a vehicle or have a stall at the event.

The festival is held in aid of Race Against Dementia, the charity founded by Sir Jackie to raise money for research into prevention and treatment for dementia, a disease that affects 50 million people worldwide including his beloved wife, Helen.
