This summer, diamonds, both real and faux, will be adorning the room settings at Firle Place in our Crowning Glory Exhibition – in tribute to Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year. The glittering exhibition will trace the history of glamorous jewellery and the enduring appeal, opulence and romance of the tiara through the exquisite costume jewellery collection made by designer Andrew Prince. The faux jewels were created for historic films and television series including many of the opulent pieces worn by the main characters in the acclaimed television series Downton Abbey and the 2019 film of the same name (Carnival Films and Focus Features), as well as for the cast of The Young Victoria, Mrs Henderson Presents, The Princess Switch, Muppets Most Wanted (Miss Piggy) and for celebrities including Michael Jackson and Shirley Bassey.
