The wedding of the century: Arthur and Katherine (1501)

About

In November 1501, an extravagant ceremony took place that enthralled the nation and altered the course of English history.

The wedding of Katherine of Aragon to Arthur Tudor in November 1501 was the most spectacular royal wedding and public festival of the 15th/16th century. The Tudor regime staked its future on the success of this marriage, but fate very quickly took England's rulers in a very different direction to the one plotted by Henry VII at this high point of his power.

Join us in looking at the incredible detail of the wedding but also its wider consequences for the Tudor family and for England.
