About

Part of the Sangat series of events, this debate explores the memory and legacy of the partition of British India in 1947, and features contributions from Wales-based elders Mohammed Javed and Jaswant Singh, who lived through the traumatic events of 1947. Mr Singh is a former Deputy Lord Mayor of Cardiff. There will also be music from the Sangat Community Chorus of Barry & the Vale. The event is chaired by Arval Jones, Director of the Public Records Library Wales with guest, Sara Griffiths, Education and Outreach Manager, The National Archives.
