About

This December, a pop-up 1950s Christmas cinema is coming to Greenway, the holiday home of Agatha Christie now cared for by the National Trust.
In a 1950s-styled marquee at Christie’s Devon retreat, complete with uniformed ushers, a collection of classic films will be screened on Saturdays and Sundays up until Christmas and then from 27-31 December. The 1950s were the heyday of Christie’s family holidays at Greenway and the golden age of cinema.

Mathew Prichard, Agatha Christie’s grandson, who spent many happy holidays at Greenway, has chosen the films to be screened, each special to his family. The line-up is:

Witness for the Prosecution: Saturday 2, Sunday 3 and Wednesday 27 December.

And Then There Were None: Saturday 9, Sunday 10 and Thursday 28 December.

Endless Night, Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and Friday 29 December.

Evil under the Sun: Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Saturday 30 December.

Mystery film: Sunday 31 December.

Screenings will be at 11am and 2pm. Standard seats: adult £14.50, child (3-15) £9.50, group (10+) £13.50. Premier seats: £19.50, child (3-15) £14.50. Normal admission prices to Greenway apply.

Booking essential: visit nationaltrust.org.uk/greenway or call 01803 842382.
