Diva Opera - Tosca

About

Join us in the Marble Hall for a fabulous evening of opera as we are delighted to welcome back Britain's foremost chamber opera company, Diva Opera. Summer opera is not complete without a delightful picnic and you are invited to bring your own packed basket of goodies to enjoy on hall's terrace during the interval.

Puccini's tragic story of passion, lust and power set in Rome in 1800 at the time of the Napoleonic wars. The celebrated opera singer Floria Tosca fights to protect her lover, the painter Cavaradossi who has been arrested for aiding an escaped political prisoner. Chief of Police Scarpia who is in love with Tosca, offers to spare Cavaradossi's life in exchange for her love. Surrender to Scarpia or lose her lover? Tosca must decide.
