Make magical memories this Christmas at Newcastle's popular family attraction, Life Science Centre from Saturday 9 November - Sunday 5 January 2020. Explore winter skies, create 3D decorations to take home, enjoy festive science demos, meet Santa and skate on the outdoor ice rink - just some of the things you can enjoy at Life this Christmas!
Skating at Life
Experience a winter wonderland with even the promise of a little snow in Times Square for the return of Life's ever-popular ice rink. The seasonal ice rink – now in its 19th year at Life Science Centre – is the only open-air ice rink in Newcastle and Gateshead this Christmas and a perennial favourite for families looking for a festive day out.
Tickets for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are already selling fast, so make sure you get your skates on and book online in advance so you don't miss out.
Festive Fun inside the Science Museum
The festive fun will continue inside the science centre, with videos of yuletide greetings from astronauts, a Christmas sparkler or ‘five gold rings of smoke’ special ending to its Science Theatre show and even a chance to make the all important ink for that personal handmade touch when you write your letters to Santa.
Father Christmas will return to his rink-side grotto at Life from 30 November. Book a visit to Santa’s magical grotto. Mr Claus will be at Life Science Centre every weekend in December, as well as Monday 23 December.
