The Powder Mills is a stunning privately owned Listed Georgian country house hotel set in 150 acres of parkland, lakes and woods, adjoining the famous 1066 Battlefield and Abbey. Guests can explore beautiful woodland trails and fish for carp and pike in the seven acre lake, or enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in season.

The hotel has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and exudes period charm with rooms full of comfy sofas, antiques, interesting artwork and a selection of good books. Public rooms have wonderful log fires in winter. There are 48 individually decorated en suite bedrooms, some with four posters.

The Orangery Restaurant has recently been awarded a second AA rosette for its consistent high quality cuisine and excellent service. Lunch, dinner, afternoon Sussex cream teas and morning coffee are served every day. Weddings, conferences, meetings and private parties can be catered for by professional and efficient staff in two large function rooms for up to 250 guests.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring Sussex and Kent, with the Channel Tunnel just one hour’s drive away. There are interesting castles and gardens to visit nearby, including Bodiam, Sissinghurst and Batemans and numerous antique shops to explore in neighbouring picturesque villages. Truly a magical spot to while away a few days.
