Kimbolton Castle is offering an exclusive tour of their historic building for the first time ever, allowing you to find out more about the hidden history of the castle, the state rooms, chapel, Queen’s bedchamber, courtyard and more. To finish off, you are invited to a sumptuous afternoon tea!

Kimbolton Castle is famous for its connections to Katherine of Aragon, the first wife of King Henry VIII. Today, the castle is home to several impressive works of art and is a fascinating place to visit. The new tours are led by Andrew Bamford, the castle’s curator, a history graduate from Cambridge and previous Head of History at Kimbolton School. His background makes him the perfect person to guide you around the castle and grounds and will be ably assisted by his wife Lisa, who is Head of Art at Kimbolton School, who will be able to answer any questions about the castle’s artwork and furniture that features on the tour.

Once you’ve finished your tour, you will be escorted to the Saloon where you can sit among giant fluted Corinthian pilasters and columns, a splendid marble fireplace and even more art. Your Afternoon Tea will include a traditional selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes and biscuits, as well as a glass of fizz with a piano accompaniment.

The next tour will take place on Tuesday 16th August 2022, starting at 2pm with Afternoon Tea at 3.30pm. Tickets are £45 a person, which includes the Afternoon Tea and a glass of sparkling wine (tickets are £40 without the wine), availability is limited, so book today to secure your place.
