Gallery 20
Dr. Tristram Hunt, director of the V&A, discusses how the V&A’s founding commitment to art, education and industry continues to define the museum today.
Tracing its genesis from its Victorian roots, Dr Hunt explores the birth of the institution we now know. He considers how the V&A’s British, Germanic, Indian and Oriental origins produced a world-class collection which can be used to debate our cultural heritage today.
In a time of Brexit, Netflix and artificial intelligence, Dr Hunt sets out some of the challenges and opportunities that the museum world now faces.
In association with Art Fund Devon Fundraising Committee.
