This ancient custom is all but unique to Derbyshire. It's the art of decorating wells and springs with pictures made using only natural materials
There are 2 wells -Old Road Well at a spring on the north side of Old Road, about 100m from its junction with the A628 at the eastern end of the village and Primary School Well on the north side of Old Road, about 65m east of its junction with Chapel Brow.
