Poole is one of 60 English towns to have been awarded funding to improve and celebrate its town centre as part of the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) initiative. Poole has a 2022-23 Cultural Programme as part of this project with events in July.
Setting Sail Exhibition -
Arts2Educate will be presenting local school children's work, a letter writing project and a flotilla of model ships alongside dazzling fish, all created as they learnt about Poole's fascinating trading history with Newfoundland.
23-27 July: public creative workshops taking place at GATHER, please see our website to book a place.
Discovery Trail -
Grab a map from GATHER and stroll along the Heritage Action Zone to find out more about Poole's rich history, the stories, photos, people and buildings that made the town a rich maritime haven over the centuries.
There will be additional displays, guided walks, live music and historical characters to meet you along the trail and a prize competition for those keen explorers!
Project funded by Historic England, BCP Council and Poole BID.
