Lost City of the Legion – New discoveries on the site of the Roman Fortress at Caerleon

About

Find out about the remarkable recent discoveries made by archaeologists at Caerleon, including the previously unknown suburb of massive monumental buildings on the banks of the River Usk.

Known in antiquity as ISCA, Caerleon was the base of the mighty Second Augustan Legion whose soldiers conquered Wales in the name of the Roman Emperor almost 2,000 years ago.

A FREE public lecture by archaeologists from Cardiff University and University College London at the Celtic Manor Resort on the Ides of March 2011.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance. Please email publicbookings@cardiff.ac.uk or telephone 02920 876935.
