As part of the Historic Houses Association Literary Trail, Renishaw is repeating its popular literary tours of the hall. Learn more about the Sitwell literary trio, Sachaverell, Osbert and Edith, and the famous artists that visited them, with this tour around their family home.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens have been home to the Sitwell family for 400 years. Its present owner, Alexandra, welcomes you to visit her home. The Hall is still very much a family home which adds to its unique atmosphere. This tour of the Hall will allow you to see some of the spectacular collections of art and furniture that have been acquired by generations of Sitwells. It is quite literally a treasure trove, of inestimable value to students and art lovers alike.
