The inspiration for Northanger Abbey, this walk celebrates the medieval Netley Abbey’s link to the gothic literature - a romantic ruin that inspired not only Jane Austen, but also Horace Walpole and Thomas Grey.
- Meet inside the the car park area within the grounds of Netley Abbey
- Main parking is Abbey Hall free car park, Netley, SO31 5FA
- Bring appropriate clothing and footwear
- Tickets MUST be booked in advance as places are limited
- Minimum number for walk to commence is 4
- Ground is largely uneven and there are some short steps
- Walk lasts approximately 90 minutes
