Famous Warm Room Mosaic and hypocaust at Chedworth Roman Villa

About

Step back in time this February half-term and discover how the Romans kept warm during the winter months at Chedworth Roman Villa.

Families can explore the ingenious hypocaust (underfloor heating) systems and learn about the hard work that went into maintaining them. Get hands-on by helping to fill the log store, imagine how hot air circulated through the floors and walls, and discover the types of clothing the Romans used to stay snug, including the famous Birrus Britannicus (British woollen cloak).
Get hands-on with real Roman artefacts and dive into the daily routines of the villa's residents - from the wealthy owner to the hardworking servants.

This is a fun and educational experience perfect for the whole family.

No booking required. Normal admission rates. No additional charge for half term activities.
