An Introduction to Playwriting

About

Join Rubber Ring writer and People, Power, Passion artist James McDermott in learning how to write a play.

Through a series of exercises, participants will learn that drama is about people trying to overcome external obstacles and an internal flaw in order to get what they want and that the playwright maps this journey through dialogue and action in space and time.

Participants will have to think and write imaginatively which will develop their skills as creative writers. Participants will have to analyse, articulate and document life experiences which will develop their self-awareness. Participants will be encouraged to read aloud their work which will hone their speaking and listening skills.

Workshop Participants will be eligible for £8 tickets to Rubber Ring.
