About

This spectacular one-off event is being held to celebrate the winning story in the 1002 Nights Short Story Competition (sponsored by the Centre for Narrative Leadership). All proceeds will go to support The National Centre for the Oral Tradition (NaCOT).

Michael Harvey is one of the foremost storytellers in the UK and Europe - a reputation built over the last 15 years. He specialises in the traditional stories of the Celtic countries as well as having an extensive repertoire of other international tales. Michael (who lives in Cardiff) tells stories in Welsh and English to all ages and is a regular guest at international storytelling festivals. He is a charming and light-hearted performer and a great entertainer who will bring his own special magic to the evening.

Geoff Mead tells a wide range of stories from around the world and has a special affection for wonder tales – where the human and the more-than-human worlds meet. Geoff was a guest performer at the Toronto International Storytelling Festival in 2010 and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival in 2011. His new book Coming Home to Story: Storytelling Beyond Happily Ever After was published by Vala in November 2011.
