May Day was always the most popular festival of the year - time to welcome in the better weather and celebrate. Step back into history and join in with the event as our living historians choose a May queen and raise the May tree.
Join in with garlanding, processions and dancing and watch traditional plays, all accompanied by authentic, live music - it all happens right in front of you!
The House will be open with the downstairs rooms brought to life with cooks in the kitchen and gentry in the great hall. The Moat House will be full with workers baking and making and the villagers and crafts will be in the outbuildings.
There are acres of gardens to explore - abundant and alive with spring bulbs and blossom everywhere.
