This lecture about food practices and the culinary arts in colonial Bengal will explore the struggle between colonialism and nationalism within the vibrant environment of food and cuisine. The evening will include the opportunity to enjoy Bengali finger food, which will be available before the lecture.
Speaker Dr Jayanta Sengupta is Director-in-Charge of the Indian Museum and Anthropological Survey of India. He recently appeared in the acclaimed BBC series My Family, Partition and Me.
