Step back in time and immerse yourself in the excitement of Roman life at Chedworth Roman Villa. Our Summer of Play offers a thrilling array of activities for visitors of all ages:
1) Chariot Racing: Feel the rush of ancient competition in our Upper Courtyard. 2) Dress-up as one of Chedworth's famous characters. 3) Magnetic Mosaics and Puzzles: Unleash your creativity in the West Range. 4) Giant Nine Men's Morris: Challenge friends and family to to this strategy game on our lawns. 5) Beanbag Throwing: 'Fight' a Roman Soldier next to the Victorian Lodge. 6) Future of Archaeology Exhibition: Think about how we meet contribute to the archaeological record. 7) Spotter Challenge: Hunt for Chedworth's archaeological wonders, including Britain's longest in-situ mosaic and the National Trust's oldest known toilet. 8) Break a record of your own: Join our Lower Courtyard challenges - from ball throwing and skipping to hula-hooping and building with giant blocks.
After all the excitement, take a moment to reflect at our newly opened viewpoint and soak in the timeless beauty of the Roman countryside.
Why not enjoy an ice cream in the Chedworth Café or relax at a picnic spot next to the ruins of the Villa? Put your sun hat on and come and make the most of being outdoors this summer.
Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank.
