Stoke Cult Film Club – Full Metal Jacket

About

Stanley Kubrick's brilliant two-part tale, set during the Vietnam War follows a group of American recruits from their training to deployment, it is harsh, harrowing and pulls no punches, its gritty realism pulls the viewer from the comfort of their chair and thrusts them into a conflicted world of pain and violence. Kubrick's spectacular cinematography graphically demonstrates the horror of war and its many abuses cleverly entwined with drama and dark comedy. Packed with memorable lines 'Full Metal Jacket' keeps the viewer enthralled throughout and is undoubtedly one of the finest cult war movies ever made. Tickets £5, bar opens at 6pm with the film screening at 7pm.
