During the dark days of the '79 referendum, Wales had lost its nerve and the Welsh rock scene was wallowing in nostalgia. But the raucous visit of the Sex Pistols to Caerphilly had stirred one schoolboy's imagination. He had to be in a band...and from then on things were never quite the same.
