Queer Science Champions

About

Join PRISM Exeter at the University of Exeter for a public celebration of LGBTQIA+ contributions to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine on Mon 27 June (17:30-19:30).

The winners of PRISM Exeter's Queer Science Competition (prismexeter.com/qsc) will receive their certificates and prizes, and present short talks on the LGBTQ+ person from STEMM they chose to champion.

Discover the French mathematician and physicist whose philosophy for life and mathematics were intimately related; the entomologist who names new fly species after the likes of RuPaul and Deadpool; and see how looking at the past through a modern lens could reveal a more fluid personal life of a well-known 19th Century nurse.

We will also be joined by special guest, Sarah Cosgriff, a professional science communicator and inclusive education advocate for LGBTQIA+ charity, Schools OUT UK.

Further details about the event and the competition are provided at https://www.exeter.ac.uk/news/homepage/title_916740_en.html
