Prehistoric Hide Tanning

About

Before the advent of modern tanning humans were turning skins into leather using materials readily available to them from the surrounding landscape. Come see this process in action from raw pelt to finished fur, and enjoy a look at some of the finished products made from traditionally tanned leather! This will be demonstrated as part of PhD research into prehistoric tanning methods, by research student Theresa Emmerich. There are 2 sessions: 11am - 1pm & 2 - 4pm
