Miniature St Fagans:Constructing Model Buildings

About

Derbyshire fine artist and professional model maker David Wright visits St.Fagans:National History Museum to demonstrate his craft. Specialising in recreating some of our heritage buildings in miniature, the demonstrations will show how you too can produce convincing model buildings from scrap or materials that are easy to obtain as well as being easy on the pocket!

One of the museums buildings will feature as subject matter for the demonstration. David will show how to construct the shell from drawings, before covering with a skin of clay and will show how to scribe all the stone work. Windows and doors will be constructed and fitted before demonstrating how to tile, slate or thatch the roof. Lastly, painting and weathering techniques will be done to finish the building, and bring it to life!

There are 2 sessions : 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm.
