Mansion House Lecture Series: 'Cardiff Recognises True Nobility'

About

This lecture looks at how one of the World’s richest men, the 3rd Marquess of Bute, became Mayor of Cardiff in 1890. A unique appointment at the time, Lord and Lady Bute brought an aristocratic glamour to their civic role, and helped to establish Cardiff as a future Welsh Capital.

Come and visit this very special house; see the fabulous, original interiors and be absorbed in almost 120 years of history. Matthew Williams, Cardiff Castle Curator will be presenting a lecture on the story behind Lord Bute as Victorian Mayor. This is the second of a 3 series lecture.
