A celebration of digital art created by young people across Devon, Torbay and Plymouth as part of the Machina project, run by Daisi. During the project young people have created digital art including gif animations, digital paintings and installations using apps, smartphone technology, coding and other digital techniques alongside traditional media such as painting and printmaking. Some of the artworks were inspired by objects in RAMM’s collection.
See machinafestival.wordpress.com for details on the project, and the Machina festival taking place at RAMM and Exeter Phoenix on Sunday 22nd April (link to events page for workshop & festival)
The exhibition features the work of well-known Pop artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Patrick Caulfield and Richard Hamilton, as well as contemporary artists whose work is strongly influenced by the Pop Art phenomenon, such as Gavin Turk, Julian Opie and Damien Hirst.
Funded by Daisi with an Arts Council England grant.
