Kentwell Hall - WW1 Bringing the Boys Home

About

This Re-Creation concentrates upon those wounded in WWI. Military history brought to life by Kentwell's expert living historians.

"Bringing the Boys Home" highlights the bravery and sacrifice made by those in the service of their country and the vital effort made by medical personnel in their devoted care.

Follow soldiers from the trenches and fields of France as nearly 100 living historians show how they deal with injuries and experimental treatments on a scale never previously seen. You can experience the route home for yourself, either as a mock casualty or volunteer medic - maybe help roll bandages - or write a letter home for a wounded soldier.

Explore tented treatment centres, requisitioned hospital buildings and chat with our villagers living with war on their doorsteps. Sense the difference between the mud, blood and shelling of France, and the rolling fields and gardens of home, as the soldiers move towards safety and a life after war.
