Josef Herman (1911-2000) Centenary Exhibition

About

Josef Herman was born in Warsaw in 1911 before coming to Britain in order to flee anti-Semitic persecution. From 1944, he lived in Ystradgynlais for 11 years where he built his reputation with paintings of Welsh coal miners. He is acknowledged as a major figure in British art and has been a key influence on a generation of Welsh artists.

This important exhibition celebrates the centenary of Josef Herman's birth.
