Jess and Nels tour in 2019 with books and songs to satisfy the most avid record sleeve-readers, comic book-worms, or just about anyone feeling lost in the digital age. Their co-headlined show promises an atmospheric concoction of songwriting and storytelling. Together they put on an intimate show, from which the audience can take home a gig souvenir with a difference.
Jess' illustrated book of short stories springs from the psyche of a touring artist, who finds romance in pylons, transport systems, and concrete. She writes gutsy modern folk songs telling stories full of sadness and bite. Nels Andrews is a journeyman in the craft of melody who is here to tell you a story. He is based in Santa Cruz, California. Nels' new record Pigeon & the Crow comes with a graphic novella in which Nels' supernatural ballads sprawl the pages with colourful illustrations by artist Mike Benzce.
