About

Hear about the Tree sculptures and signage on The Art Trail with artist Martin Smith and learn about his wider practice.

Martin is known for his witty kinetic sculptures which are shown in galleries and private collections around the world.

Regular visitors will be familiar with his works in the Courtyard. His Kinetic Arboretum is currently sited on the lawns, while the Concentric Wave which was previously located on the site of the Victorian Gasometer. You may also have seen his clapping machines in the Harley Gallery. A solo exhibition, Little Machines, showed at the Gallery in 2019.
