307 Squadron Project invites you to Exeter's Guildhall for the special event For Your Freedom & Ours. It will take place between 13-15 November 2023, to remember the Polish 307 Squadron.
This night-fighter squadron was part of the RAF, who defended the South West of England during WW2.
It prevented Exeter from being totally destroyed during the blitz on the city in 1942.
The event includes:
The story of the Polish 307 Squadron.
The History of RAF Exeter where 307 Squadron were based from 1941-1943.
This free event in both English and Polish, will take place at the Exeter Guildhall, from:
Monday 13th November 10:00–16:00
Tuesday 14th November 10:00–16:00
Wednesday 15th November 10:00-16:00
On Wednesday 15th November, '307 Squadron Day', at 10:00 the Polish flag will be raised over the Guildhall by the Lord Mayor of Exeter.
Also on Wednesday 15 November at 2pm, local aviation historian Chris Wiseman will give a lecture on the history of RAF Exeter. This will take place in the Jury Room in the Guildhall (limited places).
'For Your Freedom and Ours' has been organised by 307 Squadron Project, with support from Exeter City Council.
307 Squadron Project is a British-Polish registered charity established to promote the role and carry out further research on the squadron that were known as the 'Lwow Eagle Owls'.
The project also promotes cooperation between our nations.
