Flog It! Valuation Day

About

The popular BBC2 antiques programme Flog It! presented by Paul Martin, is coming to Cardiff. Flog It! – the major BBC2 antiques series – regularly gets an audience of 2 million viewers each weekday.

National Museum Cardiff will be hosting the Flog It! Valuation Day on Monday 27th February from 9.30am until 4:00pm. Rather like a treasure hunt, members of the public are invited to bring along up to three antiques and collectables they might be interested in selling. Once valued, the owner and team of experts decide whether it should go forward for auction. If the item is chosen it is sold a few weeks later – often with the owner making a tidy sum. Everyone who goes along to the Valuation Day will receive a free valuation – even if their antiques are not chosen to go forward for auction.

Presenter Paul Martin will be joined on the day by antiques experts Mark Stacey and Catherine Southon. Flog It! will be at National Museum Cardiff, Cathays Park. The Grand Hall and restaurant are the only areas of the museum which will be open on the filming day; all others of the museum will remain closed. The auction will take place on Thursday 21st March 2012 at Anthemion Auctions and will be broadcast as part of the eleventh series.
