A celebration of music and events for everyone, including a family concert and dementia-friendly concert. Please refer to the website for the full programme of concerts and events, venues and ticket prices. Some are even free!
The Elgar Festival is an annual live celebration of the life and music of Worcester's most famous son and Britain's great composer, Sir Edward Elgar (1857–1934). Set in and around Worcester and Malvern, the event provides the perfect stimulus to hear music in the inspirational places that were familiar to the composer, with a programme comprising orchestral concerts given by the resident English Symphony Orchestra, guest artists, and features composers working today as well as those luminaries of the past, as well as family-friendly events and concerts for all to enjoy. Many events are free of charge, or priced accordingly.
Lauded as 'Critic's Pick' in The Guardian and embodying the ethos 'Elgar for Everyone', the Festival engages with those of all ages and backgrounds in music and legacy at a number of integral venues of both historic interest and personal significance to Elgar, including Worcester Guildhall and Cathedral.
