Experience this significant moment in history at Salisbury’s most iconic building with a series of special services and events.

Witness a moment in history inside one of the country’s most iconic buildings as we broadcast the Coronation live on the big screen. In the week leading up to the big day, we’ll be marking the occasion with a series of themed events and services including a special exhibition in the Cathedral Library, family activities and an outdoor performance by the Swing Unlimited Big Band. All are welcome to join our Civic Service at 15:30 on 7 May.

Cathedral Library
A special exhibition in the Cathedral Library to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Community Bunting Making
Saturday 29 April – Friday 5 May 10:00 – 15:00
Everyone is welcome to come and join in decorating bunting with messages for the new King, which will be displayed in The Cloisters during Coronation weekend.
Free no ticket required.

Coronation Robe
Tuesday 2 – Saturday 6 May
Come and see our magnificent Coronation Robe on display in the St Lawrence Chapel at the Cathedral. The replica of the Queen’s Coronation robe is made from purple pampas grass, gilded dried foliage and ferns will be on display in St Lawrence Chapel.

Parent and Toddler Crown Making with Selfie Throne
Friday 5 May 10:00 – 12:00
Parents and carers are invited to bring their toddlers to the Cathedral to make their very own crown in preparation for the Coronation. Children can then dress up in cloaks and have their photo taken with their crown on a special throne. This is included with standard admission charges.

Live screening of the Coronation of King Charles III
Saturday 6 May
Come together to watch this historic event, including the build-up, processions and service, broadcast live on the big screen inside the Cathedral. The Refectory serving food & drink and the Gift Shop will be open as usual.
The screening is FREE.
General admission to the Cathedral for visitors will open from 14:00 (standard admission charges apply).

Crown Making with Selfie Throne
Saturday 6 May 12:00 – 16:00
Family activities where you can make your own souvenir crown and be photographed on a special ‘Throne’.
FREE (no ticket required).

Swing Unlimited Big Band
Saturday 6 May from 13:00
Join Swing Unlimited and their singers on the West Lawn for an afternoon of free music, singing and dancing.
A special outdoor barbecue and bar will be available on the lawns to make the afternoon go with a swing.
FREE (no ticket required).

A Service of Celebration for the Coronation of King Charles III
Sunday 7 May 15:30
Everyone is welcome to join us for this special service where we give thanks to the new King Charles III.
