Powderham Castle Christmas in the Castle

About

Christmas at the Castle is BACK, with the special gift of a sign-language grotto.

Powderham Castle, a historic gem nestled in the heart of South Devon, is set to transport visitors to a winter wonderland with the return of its highly-anticipated Christmas at the Castle event, which this year sees the introduction of a BSL Christmas grotto.

As part of this magical celebration, Powderham Castle invites visitors to experience the historic grounds in a whole new light.

Starting from December 1st until December 31st, visitors can purchase tickets for both the castle and grounds. Tickets are priced at £14.95 per adult and £6.95 per child.

This expanded experience includes the opportunity to step inside Powderham Castle and discover its 12 Days of Christmas-themed activity trail, where children are invited to explore the castle and grounds, collecting stamps on their way.

Powderham Castle’s famous Christmas Light Trail is back for 2023, which sees a mile-long trail within the grounds illuminated with an abundance of lights and festive decorations, creating a breathtaking experience for kids and adults alike.

As well as impressive festive displays, guests can explore an array of culinary delights at the food and drink markets, indulging in food from local producers including Big Bear Burgers, Gourmet Street Kitchen and Love Donuts.

Both the Riding School Bar and Courtyard Chalet will also be serving beer and cider from Bays Brewery and Sandford Orchards, alongside a plethora of tasty tipples. And, on select evenings, live music will be hosted by local musicians.

One of the standout features of Christmas at the Castle is a signing Santa at our BSL grotto. Powderham Castle is committed to inclusivity and will be providing a unique experience where Santa communicates with deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adults using British Sign Language. Regardless of their hearing abilities, every attendee can share in the joy of meeting Santa and creating cherished memories. Standard tickets for the grotto must be purchased alongside admission tickets, at a price of £8 per child. BLS tickets can be purchased separately.

Powderham Castle warmly welcomes families, friends, and visitors of all ages to celebrate the season in a spectacular setting. Embrace the festive spirit, create lasting memories, and revel in the magic of Christmas at the Castle.
