The annual Army South Wales Beating Retreat military musical concert, organised by Headquarters 160 (Wales) Brigade is due to take place this year on the evening of Thursday 15 September within the grounds of Cardiff Castle.
Military musical entertainment will be provided by the band of the Royal Welsh Regiment, the Dyfed and Glamorgan Army Cadet Force and a Highland Bagpiper. The main event will be the Beating Retreat sunset ceremony, signalled by the firing of two light guns from the Royal Artillery.
In addition, the Army's Regional Recruiting Team will be laying on the following activities for children; an inflatable assault course, paintball range and rock climbing wall.

Prior to the event inside the Castle, Shenkin, the regimental goat of 3 Royal Welsh, will be led through the city centre by Goat Major Sgt David Joseph, accompanied by the Royal Welsh drums section and the Highland Bagpiper, playing music between 4pm and 6pm.
Money raised by donations and a collection on the evening will go to the Army Benevolent Fund The Soldiers' Charity.
In conjunction with Firing Line: Museum of the Welsh Soldier, Cardiff Castle.
