Aston on Trent Well Dressing

About

Welcome to Aston Well Dressers. We are a friendly group from the village of Aston on Trent in South Derbyshire who enjoy keeping alive the Derbyshire tradition of well dressing. One weekend a year we hold a well dressing festival in our village to raise money for local groups and charities.

Well Dressing in Aston first began in 1997 following a talk from the then coordinator of the Belper Well Dressing Group. A group of volunteers formed the Aston Well Dressers and the ambitious plan of producing a well dressing and festival was underway.

This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we had to cancel our original plans due to lock down. We are pleased to say that this hasn't deterred us from still putting up a display all be it in a different format. This vibrant and impactful 5m display pays homage to 24 years of well dressing tradition in Aston on Trent with photos of all displays as well as a special one thanking the key workers as this years main image.

Please come and enjoy whilst maintaining social distancing. There are also two great pubs in our village providing great refreshments.
