Aimcommunity Presents Hollie Mcnish

About

AIMCommunity is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed poet Hollie McNish back to Bournemouth as part her Plum book tour.

Hollie is an Arts Foundation Fellow in Spoken Word, has garnered over seven million YouTube views for her online poetry performances and was the first poet to record at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios.

Along with specially invited local performance poets, Hollie will read from and chat honestly and openly from her new collection, PLUM, as well as performing some favourites from previous books.

Plum is a new collection of poems which charts Hollie’s journey from childhood to attempted adulthood. Expect strong language as she talks about fruit and flesh, school discos, guilt, sex, politics, death, transformers and a lot of friendship.

Books will be available to purchase at the event. There will be a book signing afterwards.

AIMCommunity is a creative arts, education and mentoring charity based in Bournemouth and Poole. AIM gives young people the experience of being in a band, producing their own music, making their own movies, expressing themselves in performance. Profits from ticket sales and raffle tickets will help expand projects in 2019.
