Wells, England’s first Gothic Cathedral, is the work of an unknown designer who was a master mason of original genius and offers a ‘textbook’ of English medieval architecture without the dryness often associated with such works.
The tour lasts between 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours, can accommodate up to 15 people per party and does need to be pre-booked.
Tickets £10 per person
Wells is easily reached by both car and public transport. Regular bus services to and from Wells operate from Bristol, Bath and other destinations locally. There are several car parks near the Cathedral and a wide range of local cafes, restaurants and bars to help you to make a day of it, including our own Cathedral café.
