About

Welcome to Wilton House; a family home which has been lived in continuously by successive generations of the family for over 460 years.

Since 1544, when the buildings and land were granted by Henry VIII to Sir William Herbert, Wilton House has been inextricably linked to the political and artistic circles of England, whilst at the same time providing employment and homes for estate workers. This pattern continues today, but, against this traditional background, changes are afoot. My father, Henry, 17th Earl, initiated a major programme of restoration and improvement, a task which the current Earl continues.

Film location, equestrian events, antiques fairs, vehicle rallies. No photography in the house. Sandford Award Winner 2002 & 2008.
