Nanteos Mansion is a perfect blend of old and new, laid out across this historic Grade I Listed Georgian mansion, its adjoining former bakery and Palladian carriage house. The mansion is unveiled at the end of a mile-long drive, with a small lake, walled garden and 40 acres of ancient woodland. Views take in nearby hills, four pillars standsentinel at the front door, sofas by log fires await in the hall.
The house dates back to 1731 but has medieval foundations. It is most famous for the Nanteos Cup - The Holy Grail - which, legend says, was borne here by the monks of Glastonbury Abbey during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
A magnificent renovation has brought the house back to vibrant life. Downstairs there’s a morning room, sitting room bar and the elegant Nightingale Restaurant where you can sample chef/patron Nigel Jones’ delicious cuisine. Upstairs the suites are grand and gracious, some panelled, others with fine wallpaper. The luxurious rooms burst with colour and original art.
