Hull, formally known as Kingston upon Hull sits within the East Yorkshire area, lying upon the River Hull and the Humber Estuary. It was previously a UK City of Culture and has hosted the Turner Prize. It is a traditional market town and you can find evidence of the Industrial Revolution throughout the city.
Hull was the base to several battles in the English Civil War and was the constituency of William Wilberforce, who was one of the driving forces behind the abolition of slavery in Britain.
