Berkshire

It might be right on London's doorstep, but you can easily forget your proximity to the city when visiting Berkshire. 

Berkshire is where you'll find Windsor Castle, the Queen's favourite residence - that's not the only royal connection, the Duchess of Cambridge was born in Berkshire, the Magna Carta was signed here and Eton College is also located in the county. 

Full of medieval history, home to the iconic Reading Festival, great accommodation options, water activities and other fun attractions, Berkshire is packed full of things to see and do. One must see landmark is Reading Abbey which is located along the River Thames.
