I can’t believe it is summer again already! It won’t be long now before the children will be finished school and before I know it, Florence will be starting secondary school! I don’t know how to feel about being the parent of a secondary school student! Before I lose myself in existential dread, we have a couple of events in the calendar, including Father’s Day.
As Mr Hudson is a very busy man, we love having the opportunity to spoil him for Father’s Day, so we’ve put together a selection of some of our recommendations of places to visit as a Father’s Day treat.
Mr Hudson is someone that loves history, so if your father figure is similarly inclined, book a trip to Bletchley Park who are offering a special Father's Day event, complete with either a BBQ or a roast dinner for their lunch!
Alternatively, you could see how your family would fare as gladiators by heading to Chedworth Roman Villa in Gloucestershire. Gladiators will be around all weekends and there is even a chance for you to take on your dad in the ring! What's better is that if you are a National Trust member, you can enjoy free entry!
For the dad that loves classic cars, either spend the day visiting the Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire or visit Beamish. The Living Museum has a classic car show taking place over Father's Day - perfect for the dads that love being around heritage engines!
Or why not see how your dad will fare against the supernatural with the Stanley Palace Ghost Hunt. This former priory has centuries worth of history to explore as well as a couple of spirits lurking about - will your dad find them?
What will you be doing for Father's Day this year? We've still not made up our minds!
