Join Artist and Teacher Ginny Whittle and learn to create works in watercolour. Making your own images is the objective of the course, in a step by step process of gathering the foundation knowledge, and moving through to more finished works.
The course runs from Wed 8th January to Wed 25 March with a half term break on 19 & 26 Feb.
Some reference photographs would be useful, however you may use the tutor's examples if you do not have your own images to work from.
Week one – tips with watercolour.
Week two – how Artists use texture in a watercolour, looking at examples, using them to see how you form your own painting.
Week three – looking at colour – how colour creates space and depth.
Week four – exploring mark making in drawing. Looking at artists work, producing your own piece.
Week five – Drawing – making a tonal drawing.
Week six – from Dark to Light.
Week seven to week ten – putting it all together having fun making images, with the help of your Tutor and examples from Art History.
