Have you ever wondered what happens in the castle over winter? Join our Head Housekeeper and Conservation Officer to learn about how the team protect the historic site through essential cleaning, preventative conservation and environmental monitoring. Discover how the castle has been cared for through the years by historic housekeeping teams, see some conservation in action with a sneak peek into a room which is in the process of being deep cleaned, and explore some behind the scenes collections care.
Access : Please note that accessibility inside the Castle is limited due to the historic nature of the building. This tour includes areas of the Castle that are not usually open to the public. The route includes uneven floor surfaces, steep stairs and areas where there is no access to seating. Flat shoes and warm clothing are strongly recommended. If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please contact the Castle team in advance by calling 01833 650202 or emailing admin@raby.co.uk.
