Open Days at West Horsley Place are a wonderful way to explore the fascinating history of the site. With over 600 years there are plenty of stories to uncover. Explore the Manor House and gardens at your leisure.
At each Open Day there are historical re-enactments. In May, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, we are exploring our World War II stories.
West Horsley Place's story during wartime is a fascinating one. This Open Day we will explore how the 40 young evacuees sent here in 1939 spent there time, how close the manor house came to being destroyed by a bomb, how the lady of the house was dedicated to supporting the free French, and why the Canadian Prime Minister stopped in for a visit.
