About

Play spooky games and enjoy free Halloween party activities at Fort Nelson this October half term.

Children can enjoy face-painting, spooky storytelling, crafts, games and colouring from Monday 28 October to Friday 1 November.

A spooky trail will also run at the Victorian fort with younger visitors challenged to find all the ghoulish ghosts and create their own Halloween story. The trail is available every day from Saturday 26 October to Sunday 3 November.

Children are welcome to get in the Halloween spirit and dress up in their best Halloween costumes or come as they are.

Fort Nelson has limited capacity on site, so visitors are advised to book their visit online in advance.

Fort Nelson is a great place to visit at any time of the year but as the days get shorter this historic Victorian fort, with its underground tunnels and secret chambers, is particularly atmospheric.

The fort is home to the Royal Armouries national collection of artillery with pieces from across the world, spanning 600 years of history. As a national museum, admission to Fort Nelson is free.

Take a break from your adventures with a visit to the café to enjoy a menu including children’s picnic packs, seasonal soups, spooky biscuits and delicious cakes.

Fort Nelson is open daily during school holidays, 10am to 5pm.
During term time the fort is open Tuesday to Sunday ony (closed on Mondays).
